Coeliac disease (CD) is common. It can present with a diverse range of symptoms, and initial diagnosis can be delayed by years. Undiagnosed and untreated, CD can result in ongoing ill health and a number of complications.

In this session, Dr Sheth will discuss how to recognise, assess and manage CD.

By the end of the session, you will understand:

  • Who we should test for CD
  • Which tests we should perform
  • What advice we should give patients and their carers
  • How we monitor patient with CD
  • Who to refer

Dr Tanay Sheth

GPSI Gastroenterology, Primary Care Gastroenterology Society

Tanay Sheth is a GPSI in Gastroenterology based in Surrey, and a committee member of the Primary Care Society for Gastroenterology. He was educated at Cambridge and St Bartholomew’s, and trained in Medicine & Gastroenterology and General Practice. He has a long interest in endoscopy, practising in primary and secondary care since 1999, and setting up a primary care service in London in 2008.
